Titanium Tandem - 12.4kg

Every bicycle construction is exciting, but it will be particularly exciting if the customer also has a very high level of technical understanding and you can talk about every detail. This tandem was intended for a German couple who run bike tours in Spain together and therefore have enormous know-how. If the two are not in the saddle for work, they only ride tandem in their free time and this tandem should of course become their non-plus-ultra. As is typical for tandem, the two of them like to do a lot of altitudes together, so that the maximum switching bandwidth was just as important as the minimum weight. The result is 12.4 kg. So there is not much potential left here to build even lighter or stiffer. You could have used a carbon add-on part here and there, but not to make compromises in terms of comfort, safety, low maintenance, and last but not least, design. The tubes are oversized and double butted. This made it a bit trickier to accommodate the third lateral tandem tube on the head tube, but of course, we did it. At that time Shimano also offered an Ultegra crank especially for the tandem, which is of course installed here. We hope to have made two people very happy with this two-wheeler and of course have a lot of fun climbing the passes.
